1989: Anthenora was founded by Gigi, Smaro and Pooma.
Nineties: released 3 demo-tapes (Bring me to Hell, Heretical Symphonies and Demo'ns).
1998-2002: Anthenora was one of the best known Italian Iron Maiden tribute band.
2002: Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden) chose Anthenora for his "Total McBrain Damage" tour; 3 more tours 2003 and 2004.
2002: EP titled "The General's awakening" produced by Tony "Mad" Fontò (White Skull): high rates, awarded by Neropaco.it (Italy) and Metal Kingdom.cl (Chile) as best demo 2002. Song "Planet Jail" put in compilation "Metal Underground" by MeatHead records.
During the "General's tour" the band supported Paul Di Anno, Mesmerize and Domine.
2003: full-lenght album "The Last Command", produced by Tony “Mad” Fontò, mastered by Luigi Stefanini (New Sin Studio), released 2004 by Locomotive Records: a concept album based on a story set between a darkened future and the bleeding Europe in 2nd World War. During the "Last Command Tour" 2004 the band played at Valpolicella Metal Fest (Verona-Italy) supporting Udo, Vader, Thunderstorm, White Skull.
2005: full-lenght album titled "Soul Grinder", released 2006 by My Grave Yard Productions (www.mygraveyardproductions.com).
During the "Soulgrinder tour" on August 2006 the band played at Armageddon Metal Festival with the german band Majesty.
2009: full-lenght album “The Ghosts of Iwo Jima” released 2010 by My Grave Yard Productions.
A new album is ready, just waiting the pandemia come to end.
