AgapéSoul is the brainchild of bassist, songwriter, and producer Darryl Anders. His resume includes playing with the legendary Tower of Power, Robben Ford and Meters drummer Zigaboo Modeliste.
AgapeSoul’s debut CD “Believe In Love” earned comparisons to popular r&b/jazz ensembles Incognito and Brand New Heavies – and reached #1 on the UK Soul Chart.
AgapéSoul’s follow-up cd Conversations made a big noise worldwide hitting the #1 spot on the UK Soul Chart twice as well as securing the #1 spot on the Indie Soul Chart in the US.
The project is driven by Anders’ singular musical vision to create a positive listening experience for any one who hears this music. Anders says “The name AgapéSoul comes from the Greek word Agape- meaning God’s unconditional love and Soul- the place within us where music comes from. It also reflects the style of music we feel connected to”.
10 stellar tracks of sophisticated, insightful, and rhythmically diverse conversations are generated by the group’s core members- Aaron Green, Cam Perridge, and vocalist Zoe Ellis along with a dynamic array of well known guest artists including Tommy Sims, Geoffrey Williams, Paul Jackson Jr., Levi Seacer, Ivan Neville, Eric Gales and members of Snarky Puppy. “This song (Fruitvale Gumbo) has all the ingredients you look for in a total listening experience… great vibe and energy, fantastic musicianship and a killer melody… Bravo to AgapeSoul!!”- Dave Koz
