Steven Blane is a Pop-Americana Jazz infused chill electro pop Singer-Songwriter in the style of Billy Joel, Neil Young, Tom Waits and Leonard Cohen.
He is inspired by Elvis, Roy Orbison and Chris Isaac and plays guitar, ukulele and piano. He self-produces all of his work and gigs constantly in NYC and South Florida. During this Corona Virus Pandemic, he has been journaling his experience by writing songs of the days and producing videos of his songs. One of his lyrics was featured in an article in Vanity Fare. Among his most recent releases is a cover of Neil Young's "After the Goldrush, a Passover EP, a chill electro-pop track entitled "Dumbo" and an inspirational pop ballad called "Fly Again." He has produced a brand new album, entitled “Sweet Dreams” which features eleven tracks of chill electro jazz-infused pop. He also has a five-song acoustic EP in the can. Entitled "Dancing With The Angles." it is a full-on acoustic guitar-driven fiddle-filled Americana. In 2019 he also released a Hanukkah EP as well as a brand new Christmas song, First Christmas. The six-song EP entitled “Hanukah” features Blane on ukulele and vocals. Blane also recently released a single titled "First Christmas."
Steven's 2019 album is entitled “I Walk Alone. It’s comprised of eleven songs in a retro 1960’s Pop-Rock style written and produced by Steven.
He has been a resident artist at Shrine in Harlem, NYC. He is also a Rabbi and Cantor.
