Rum Tum Tiddles is the collaborative folk-pop project of English singer Madeleine Mosse and French musicians Thomas Bevand and Fred Lambert.
Active members of the French folk revival scene of the 2000s, Rum Tum Tiddles supported acts such as Alela Diane, Cocoon, This is the Kit and Moriarty. Despite their enviable status and enthusiastic reviews, the group evaporated following their debut album “We Could Be Pirates” in 2011.
The band now return with a charming and punchy new single, “Are You Wounded”, and a new album announced for Summer 2021. Working with coveted producer and musician Matt Bauer (renowned for his five solo albums and collaborations with Jolie Holland, Marie Sioux and Alela Diane) Rum Tum Tiddles present us with eleven new songs rich in sagas about broken hearts and dangerous bonds. They are joined by twenty different musicians playing trumpets, strings, flutes, Wurlitzer, whistles and more – providing unlimited landscapes for Madeleine’s pure songs.
“Rum Tum Tiddles play old and sweet folk, strictly personal. But don't be fooled: the group doesn't sing about medieval boredom or outdated tales about old lace. These songs are as modern and informed by their times as the rhymes of English Grime. Emitting from the fascinating brain of singer Madeleine, enriched by the devilish production of Matt Bauer, this music sounds peaceful, docile, but it cannot be tamed. You've been warned! ” - JD Beauvallet, 2021
