After deciding he wanted to learn how to the play piano, he bought one of the cheapest piano keyboards.
Wivolin (Mikko Wivolin, born in Finland, 1992) was then 18 years old. He spent countless days just in front of the piano learning the chords for his favorite pop songs. He has never took piano lessons.
Wivolin started posting his first YouTube videos in 2011, the first ones being covers played over original songs. Later that same year he posted his first own original composition Flowers on a Grave which is about his grandfather passing away. He also posted more original songs eg. This Time Around and Ihlathi. He started to get followers on YouTube by making piano covers of popular songs, the most watched being 'Stay' (by Rihanna) which has now, 2018, almost 170K views.
Wivolin's songs are mostly instrumental so he wants every listener to create their own story while listening to them. He also thinks it's exciting for people not knowing what the song is really about. Wivolin has released only one song with vocals: I Want You. He usually draws inspiration from negative and sad feelings.
Wivolin recorded Valium (Remastered) when he started to have mental health issues in 2013. Remastered version was released in 2018.
