The young French artist Marie Oppert has performed since childhood in musicals. She was chosen at age 17 by Michel Legrand to play the lead role in his «Umbrellas of Cherbourg» alongside Natalie Dessay (Theatre du Chatelet, Paris), and most recently in the stage adaptation of Peau d’Ane» (Theatre Marigny, Paris).
She began her musical studies at a very early age at the Regional Conservatory of Paris. Her first professional experiences offered her children’s roles on national French stages («The Adventures of Pinocchio», «Alice the Musical», «The Sound of Music», «Street Scene»).
Marie was the youngest recipient of a Fulbright grant from the Franco-American commission to study at Marymount Manhattan College in New York (BA in Musical Theatre). She also won the Special Award from the prestigious Lotte Lenya Competition of the Kurt Weill Foundation.


Other significant roles include : Eliza Doolittle in «My Fair Lady» (Orleans’ arena hall, France), Johanna in «Sweeney Todd» (Opera of Reims/Grand Theatre Calais, France), Hodel in «Fiddler on the Roof» (National Opera du Rhin, France), Chloe in «Wonderland» (York Theatre, New York), Juliet in «Romeo and Juliet» (Theatre des Champs Elysées, Paris), Lucile in «Quand la guerre sera finie» (Avignon Festival).
She releases on March 27th 2020 her debut album « Enchantée » (Warner Classics) with the Lille Symphonic Orchestra, conducted by Nicholas Skilbeck and with guests Natalie Dessay and Melissa Errico.
