Renee Goust is a New York-based bicultural singer-songwriter, feminist, and activist. She was born in Tucson, Arizona and raised in Nogales, Sonora and Nogales, Arizons, crossing the border daily to and from school.
She studied piano at an early age and self-taught guitar shortly thereafter. Goust studied vocal performance at the Universidad de Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico. She gained international media recognition in 2016 with her viral feminist anthem "La Cumbia Feminazi", which strongly critiques the use of the word. She has released three home-produced EP's, and most recently presented her debut studio EP "Septiembre" in 2017. Renee writes music in Spanish, English, French and Italian spanning the genres of folk, pop, rock, cumbia, ranchera, among others. She has played stages in Mexico, the U. S., and Europe. Her upcoming EP "Sad on Saturday will be released in 2018.
