Renee Goust is a New York-based Mexican-American singer-songwriter and queer artivist.
Her sound is culturally diverse, ranging from folk-pop ballads to rancheras and Norteño cumbias. Raised bilingual, and having grown up crossing the US-Mexico border daily between Nogales, Sonora and Nogales, Arizona to and from school, Renee enjoys traversing boundaries with her music and currently writes in Spanish, English, French and Italian.
Renee has appeared on stages such as Lincoln Center alongside Diana Gameros, Joe’s Pub alongside Erin McKeown, and The Highline Ballroom alongside Les Nubians. She has performed in Paris, Turin, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Oaxaca, Querétaro, and Hermosillo, to name a few, and will be touring Uruguay and Argentina in January 2019. Renee has been a musical guest at festivals such as Celebrate Mexico Now, New York City’s Poetry Festival, and Festival Internacional de Poesía Latinoamericana. She made headlines around the world with her feminist anthem “La cumbia feminazi” in 2016.
After presenting her debut EP “Septiembre” in September 2017, Renee is now preparing to release her sophomore studio work, “Sad on Saturday”, in 2019.
