Beginning with their debut in 2016, they have gained attention through high-profile studio productions for various hip hop and pop artists, while also releasing two follow-up records: ‘NOW’ and ‘Watermelon Street’.
With their upcoming EP ‘Only Dope’, the duo decided against their usual carousel of guest vocalists. Instead, they step forward as artists themselves. More than ever, this EP represents a playground to experiment with new musical influences and means of self-expression. Layered chorus vocals are juxtaposed against Afro-Latin grooves, and broken by sudden arrangement switches that make way for alternative versions.
This is perhaps what Dope est Dope is best known for: the duo that never stands still, and who succeed in baking their unique mixture of ideas and themes into fresh songs.
