Hannah Miller came to music by way of dissatisfaction with everything else she tried. After earning her Batchelor of Arts in Studio Art at Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, NC, the Dothan, AL native made a brief attempt at being a wedding photographer, then spent lots of years waiting tables and working retail jobs in Columbia, SC before deciding that writing music was her true calling.
Working from the literal ground up and driving hundreds of miles over many years to play open mics, coffee shops and late night bar stages, Miller developed her own literate style that blends blues, folk, a little pop and a touch of gospel. She made the move to Nashville, TN in 2010, and there quickly discovered her love of writing music for film/tv. Her dark, ambient pop style has been heard on shows such as This Is Us, Sons of Anarchy, The Following and Pretty Little Liars, in a slew of indie films, and in national advertising campaigns for companies like Pitney Bowes. She recently finished a couple of tours as support for the folk duo The Secret Sisters and currently continues to write and release music regularly, as well as enjoy her life in Madison, TN with her husband James and their two young children.
