Giovanni Mazzarino is an italian jazz pianist, composer, educator and arranger. In 1985 he started playing jazz piano as a professional musician.
In his career he recorded, performed and collaborated with many musicians such : Enzo Randisi, Gianni Basso,Franco Cerri, Flavio Boltro, Massimo Urbani, Enrico Rava, Fabrizio Bosso, Francesco Cafiso, Paolo Fresu, Jimmy Cobb, Adam Nussbaum, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Steve Grossman, Steve Swallow, Mark Murphy, Tom Harrell, Bob Mintzer, Randy Brecker and many others. He performed as jazz piano player and composer for several worldwide famous jazz festival: Umbria Jazz, Marciac Jazz Festival, "Dubai Philips Jazz Festival” in Dubai, Euro Jazz Festival Mexico City, International Festival of Barquisimeto in Venezuela, Barranquilla, Medellin, Bogotà and Cartegena in Colombia, International Festival of Jakarta in Indonesia, International Festival of Lima in Perù, House of Jazz (Rome), Jazz Center Istanbul, National Theatre and the National Portrait Gallery of London, Brussels University, in the most important opera houses in the world and Jazz Club such: Duc Des Lombards and Sunset in Paris, Fasching Jazz Club in Stockholm, Porgy & Bess in Wien, Blue Note in Milan, Kitano Jazz Club in New York, as well as several Italian Cultural Institutes around the world. In 2003 was awarded as best new brand Italian artist by the Top Jazz Award. He teaches Jazz Improvvisation at the Conservatory of Music in Messina (Sicily).
