Athens, Georgia-based brothers Mat and Ryan Lewis had played together in a variety of bands including the Buddy System and the Agenda before stripping things down and forming Grape Soda in the fall of 2008.
Mat played keyboards and sang while Ryan handled drum duties, and the songs took on a spare approach to art-informed indie pop with hints of both the duo's garage rock past and the Technicolor psych-pop of their Athens surroundings. Following a few CD-R and cassette releases, the band's first album, Form a Sign, arrived in late 2012 on the Kindercore label. ~ Fred Thomas, Rovi
