Douglas Firs, the G. Van Hellemont-fronted indie band, have announced their 3rd studio album. Hinges of Luck is out October 13 via Excelsior Recordings. The 12-track LP was written on a 6 week trip in Canada & New York, recorded back home with the backing band including Simon Casier (Balthazar, Zimmerman) and Senne Guns (Admiral Freebee, Pomrad) and mixed in Louisville, Kentucky by Kevin Ratterman (Ray Lamontagne, My Morning Jacket).
"This music is about a whole generation - mine - that's struggling with what they should be doing right now," Gertjan says about his forthcoming album. "I have among my friends a psychologist who really wants to be a marine biologist, a company spokesperson who believes he should be a writer, and a lawyer who’d prefer to be a graphic designer. And the worst thing of it all: it’s all possible. But How can you know?"
