Summer 1988 and cousins Stuart Meads (aged 9) and Oliver Horton (7) agree to form a band, Technobeat.
They record their first album, "Stereo".
Ten years later, Oli introduces Stu to Paul Soulsby, a friend from school who shares the cousins’ musical tastes. Paul immediately joins the band, now renamed Trademark.
By 2002 Trademark are playing live, accompanied by an ever evolving live show of light up lab coats, giant flashing perspex plugs, and science lectures. The following year they self Release the album "Fear:Disconnection" which gets them a live slot supporting The Human League.
2004 and Truck records picks up the act releasing the album "Trademark Want More". It earns Pop CD of the Week in The Times and they record a live session for XFM. To top the year off, Trademark are asked to support the Human League on a 20 date nationwide tour. The following year Trademark also support John Foxx. Second album "Raise The Stakes" is released in April 2007.
In 2010 Trademark return with an EP "At Loch Shiel". The album is written in a makeshift studio in Glenfinnan, Scotland.
After a break, Trademark resume writing in 2012 for a new album. But in late 2013, with the final mixes almost signed off, Ol and Paul receive some awful news. Stu had died in an accident.
2014 sees the release of that final album, simply called "Trademark."
In 2019 Trademark remaster and reissue their first album from 1999, "Audiologue".
