Rodes Rollins, born Talia Taxman, is a psychedelic rock, Americana-inspired singer-songwriter born and raised in Colorado.
Rollins draws much of her storytelling inspiration from western landscapes and sounds, and likes to refer to her music as “cowgirl poetry”. Rollins released her debut EP Young Adult in early 2017, which quickly put her on the map as an artist to watch.
As a young girl, Rollins picked up the family guitar that had been collecting dust, and began teaching herself how to play. Rollins has been writing and recording songs since she was just 9-years-old.
When she was 17, Rollins moved to New York to study at NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study, where she received her bachelor's in Cultural Iconography.
While pursuing her degree, she began working in LA on her music, catching the attention of different music industry heavyweights, and collaborating with different writers and producers.
In 2014, during her junior year of college, Rollins caught the attention of Major Lazer's Jillionaire, and soon after, made her debut as "Rodes" in collaboration with Jillionaire & Portuguese producer, Branko, on Branko's track, "Out of Sight (So Right)", which was recorded at Red Bull Studios in NY.
Soon after, Rollins released her debut EP, Young Adult, produced by Alex Goose (Weezer, Kevin Gates). A stellar cast of musicians play alongside Rollins on this project, including Stella Mozgawa of Warpaint and Matthew Compton of Electric Guest.
