I am 24 years old, and because of music, I've earned 2 degrees from The Juilliard School, 3 GRAMMY nominations (Jon Batiste, Derek Bermel, John Legend). I have been fortunate to work with and get to know some of the most amazing and special artists in many genres (Wynton Marsalis, Delfeayo Marsalis, Mac Miller, LION BABE, Dianna Agron, etc.) and perform on the most amazing stages (Carnegie Hall, Apollo Theater, Madison Square Garden) and around the world (Abu Dhabi to Paris).
My first official jazz release Songs About Women is out now :) I decided to start this project after a period of serious self-reflection, during which I realized that being raised by powerful women more than anybody else made me the man I am today. I wanted to pay tribute to those women through this project by composing a song for each of them (including my mother, who passed when my twin sister and I were 15 months old). This project is imbued with many powerful themes and ideas, an example being the aforementioned Marie - that it is important for a mother to be told not only that she is loved, but also that her compassion can touch the lives of so many others- even in absence.
