Previous to there being a band, Tommy Uribe had an album's worth of music that he had written and recorded on his own for a personal achievement but with the encouragement of his friends and family, he was convinced that he needed a band to fulfill the vision of his songs. The band's multi-cultured, genre-bent style came out of Tommy's experiences of growing up internationally, ultimately developing a wide palette for music - although there was always an inclination to psych rock of all forms. Once there was band put together, the sound of Kilroy Kobra started to take its own shape.
The band focused on finishing their debut album that was released independently in September 2016 as Man of the World, along with perfectly synchronized music video to the album in its entirety named "Man of the World - A Visual Album" (released March 2017) written and directed by Zak Washburn.
Oct 2017 the band released MOTW (Demos / B-Sides / Remixes), a version of their debut album that was recorded by Tommy alone previous to there being a band. It includes songs not released in the original debut album plus remixes.
