I grew up in a family of musicians in Aledo, Texas. I was in piano classes as a kid then moved on to play trumpet in the orchestra and jazz band, and learned classical guitar in high school. When I was about 17, I became interested in electronic dance music, and excited about the possibilities of modern home production with DAW’s like Logic Pro and FL Studio. Early influences were ATB (still my #1), Daft Punk, Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Eric Prydz, Benny Benassi, Basshunter, and the composers of my favorite game soundtracks. I took a music technology class and learned to emulate their sounds by producing some concept tracks of my own.
In 2007 I shifted my focus to an accounting career while in college at Texas Tech and I’ve actually worked full time as a CPA and auditor for the firm Whitley Penn LLP in Dallas, TX since 2011. After realizing I had time, resources and intent to pursue my passion in music once again, I discovered my own sound and began producing and releasing music as DCPA. From 2016 through today, I’ve released 18 tracks and I’m lucky to be playing monthly in many different venues for hundreds of guests at a time!
