American guitarist and composer Jim Stubblefield is becoming a leading voice in contemporary instrumental music.
Stubblefield combines elements of various musical genres including world-beat, jazz-fusion, new age, rumba flamenca, progressive rock and epic symphonic music. His virtuoso acoustic and electric guitar stylings have elements of artists such as Al Di Meola, Strunz & Farah, Carlos Santana, David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) and Alex Lifeson (Rush). Not one to repeat himself, his releases range from the exotic Mediterranean and Eastern European sounds of “Guitarra Exotica” (2007) to the southwest-influenced rumbas of “Inspiración” (2010) to the upbeat ethnic-fusion of “Encantado” (2015) and the progressive-meets-chill-out approach of “Guitare Mystique” (2017). Stubblefield's most recent albums have appeared repeatedly in the Top 10 of the Zone Music Reporter, One World Music (UK) and Phase Global Radio (Australia) charts and can be heard on syndicated radio shows such as “Echoes” and “PRI’s The World” on NPR. His music has been featured on The History Channel, Netflix, Nickelodeon, A&E and he has appeared on compilations with artists such as Ottmar Liebert, Jesse Cook, Govi, Johannes Linstead and Armik. Stubblefield is also a founding member of the Billboard charting and award winning world fusion band - Incendio.
