maeve & quinn (Maris O'Tierney and Bryce O'Tierney) compose and perform music (voices, guitar, violin, piano) that fuses classical, indie pop, and improvisation.
Based in Chicago, maeve & quinn grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, and their music draws from that expansive landscape, its mountains, inlet, glaciers. Trained as classical musicians, maeve & quinn have also been shaped by Irish trad music and storytelling from the women in their family. They incorporate recitation of their poetry into their performances and also compose for symphony orchestra. maeve & quinn's new album, something overheard, something overhead, is out August 23. The album took root when the twin sisters were in Dublin, after time apart across the Atlantic in Alaska and Ireland. Album singles "heart's divide" and "anchorage" are out now on iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp.
