A pop singer/songwriter with a big voice and serious writing chops, Ivory Layne began writing and recording at home during her teenage years, posting her demos online.
A native of Denver, North Carolina, Layne eventually caught the ear of producer/songwriter Ed Cash, who helped her write, record, and release her 2013 debut EP, Volume One. Relocating to Nashville, she quickly became enmeshed in Music City's songwriting scene, signing a publishing deal with LBK Entertainment and working with songwriters like Lori McKenna, Jimmy Robbins, and Shane McAnally. Her second EP, 2014's Something's Gonna Happen, found global exposure, with the title track licensed to two major ad campaigns. Layne's clever wordplay and upbeat melodicism also made her in demand as a co-writer, and her talents as a vocalist found her collaborating in the studio with artists like Needtobreathe and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. She signed with Justin Timberlake's Villa40 development company in 2015, and began working on new material. Her single "Shake My Head" arrived in September 2017. ~ Timothy Monger, Rovi
