“Oxeye Daisy is hot right now, but you already know that — or you should. The dream-grunge band, like the devastating forest fire they’ve become, have spread across Denver and further at a rate that would make Smokey the Bear’s knees buckle, landing them across many publications' “Best of…” lists at the end 2018, and eventually crashing into the epicenter of Red Rocks Amphitheatre this year.” 303 Magazine
Oxeye Daisy began in 2017 in Denver. Lela Roy’s soaring voice powers the band’s songs, which mine the sounds of dream-pop, 90’s alternative rock, and experimental indie. Eddie Schmid (bass) and Ramel Sanchez (drums) are the band’s driving backbone. Daniel DiMarchi (lead guitar/synth) adds dreamy textures, and Stephen Pamas (guitar, synth) adds vocal harmonies and tuneful leads. After honing their sound in Colorado basements, the five-piece recorded their self-titled debut album. Released in May 2018, the LP was named one of the “best Colorado albums of the year so far” by Colorado Public Radio. The band later performed at Denver’s 2018 Underground Music Showcase, where they were called a “must-see” act by 5280 magazine. Roy's stage presence and unpredictable energy have won over fans in support sets for Bad Bad Hats, Brent Cowles, and Role Model.
In July 2019, after being named "Best New Rock Band" by Westword, the band released the EP “They Say You’re a Demon." With festival sets, national tour dates, and new songs on deck, Oxeye Daisy is poised to set 2020 ablaze.
