Dublin band Revelino released the remastered version of their eponymous debut album from 1994 on vinyl for the first time on Oct 9th 2020. It went straight to No 1 in the Indie charts in Ireland and sold out immediately – a 2nd pressing will be available from Nov 27th. The album has received amazing reviews for the quality of the song-writing and how “it explodes out of the speakers & fizzes with life-affirming zest that the passing of time has done nothing to dull”. Hot Press critics voted the lead single ‘Happiness is Mine’ the 3rd best single of the year in 1994 and the 2nd single ‘Don’t Lead Me Down’ went on to feature in two film soundtracks including Irish cult classic ‘I Went Down’ featuring Brendan Gleeson. Their second album Broadcaster was released in 1996 and featured the single ‘Step On High’ which the late great John Peel said he loved “to the point of madness”. In 2005, Channel 4 broadcasted the wonderful documentary Peel’s Record Box - Revelino’s ‘Step On High’ was the only Irish single in the box other than The Undertones’ ‘Teenage Kicks’! The band released their final album “To the End” in 2001 which showcased a more European sound, a fitting swansong and to many their finest work.
