String Quartet in G Minor, Op. 10: III. Andantino doucement expressif - Claude Debussy,
The Benyounes Quartet has forged a reputation for fresh vivid performances and interpretations of refinement and integrity.
Laureates of the 2015 Wigmore Hall Competition and recipients of the Royal Philharmonic Society Julius Isserlis Scholarship, the quartet's international accolades include prizes at both the 2014 Orlando International String Quartet Competition and the 2012 International Sandor Vegh String Quartet Competition in Budapest. Formed in 2007 at the Royal Northern College of Music, the four founding members have enjoyed a varied international career performing across Europe, at London's most prestiguous venues, in recordings, in cross-art projects and outreach work and on radio broadcasts. The quartet has an ongoing commitment to new music and to works by neglected women composers of the past. Throughout their career they have championed contemporary works by both established and emerging composers. The quartet travelled to the Haute Ecole de Musique de Geneve to study with Gabor Takacs-Nagy and have also benefitted from mentorships from Peter Cropper, Quatuor Ebene, Eberhard Feltz and Andras Keller among others.
