When Adam Doleac was two years old, growing up in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, his father Donnie taught him to play the drums.
Even though he demonstrated musical talent, Adam also excelled in sports. Adam played baseball at University of Southern Mississippi. He won three rings in four years as the Southern Mississippi Conference USA Champ and played in the College World Series in 2009. “It’s unbelievable how much one decision can impact where life takes you,” he says.
On December 29, 2010, he wrote his first song while on vacation in the Dominican Republic. Over one thousand people showed up for a CD release party in his hometown. "I was driving back and forth to Nashville to write songs so I decided to move there to write with other people. It’s a happy, driven city," he says. “Everybody is chasing after something they love to do.” He then met Jake LaGrone, who became his manager, and in 2015, signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV.
He’s played nearly 400 shows the last two years. Adam has penned upwards of 200 songs, has written hits for country superstars Kane Brown and Darius Rucker and many others have put holds on some of his compositions, including Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Justin Moore and David Nail. Adam released his self-titled, debut EP on June 16th, 2017. The EP was recorded in Nashville, produced by Lindsay Rimes and features 6 tracks co-written by Adam, including his single “Whiskey’s Fine."
