Her latest single, "Can't Go Home", produced by Joseph Cross (The Courteeners), combines folk-pop and country-tinged sensibilities to create a catchy, raw, new-vintage sound. The track premiered on For Folk's Sake and received praise from notable publications such as Vents Magazine and When the Horn Blows.
Having cowritten Avril Lavigne’s recent single, "Tell Me It's Over", the Toronto-bred, UK-based singer/songwriter is quickly becoming a sought-after songwriter for other artists and projects in addition to her own.
Now faced with the welcome challenge of deciding which songs to pitch to other artists and which to keep, Bel has been releasing a string of singles over the last year that are “too personal to pitch”, with a new track ready to drop at the end of Summer 2020.
Since moving to the UK in 2016 Melissa has performed at The Shard, The Gherkin and Tower Bridge as well as The Hospital Club, for Ticketmaster at The Natural History Museum, and Cornbury Festival among others. She has supported artists such as Joey Landreth, Maverick Sabre and Kylie at Hampton Court Palace Festival 2019.
