Over the last two decades they have toured throught Italy and Europe, and have also landed in Japan. Along the way they have rocked many festivals like Festival Beat, Rebellion (UK), Fuzzville (Spain), This is Ska (Germany), etc..
Their latest EP “Onigiri Head “ was released as 7” limited edition coloured vinyl by Ammonia Records. The signature style of the band (garage rock with a bit of punkrock and powerpop) is enriched by the keyboard and the vocals of the new frontgirl Vanessa.
The 4 tracks EP contains two originals -Onigiri Head, the band’s tribute to the Japanese snack, that was inspired by the recent tour in Japan and testified by the song’s videoclip, and the crampsy Bad Cat- and two covers -Amourex Solitaire (Lio) and Rock’n’roll Robot (Alberto Camerini), two european pop hits of the 80s that attest the band’s new sound following the line-up change.
The sound of The Cleopatras is mostly influenced by garage rock, punk-rock, surf and power-pop (Ramones, The Cramps, Blondie, New York Dolls, Link Wray ecc..), and inspired by different female bands and artists (Joan Jett, Bikini Kill, The Bangles, The Trashwomen, 60s girls groups etc..)
A fresh, cheeky and ironic mixture of 60s garage, punk rock and rock’n’roll, Rough&Girlie style.
