In the five heads of the members of Things That Need To Be Fixed from Munich, the pop-punk vibe is actually deeply anchored.
Nevertheless, their sound is defined by a variety of influences from punk rock, metalcore and rap forming an ambitious form of pop punk, also known as Easycore. Although the typically cool, good-humored pop-punk riffs are a basic building block; Powerful breakdowns, scream vocals or rap parts diversify the genre. Thus things convince, as they call themselves in short, with a varied and in every song surprising sound. The band lives from their wealth of ideas and the harmonious readiness of each individual to engage with others. This mood of motivation is mirrored on their June 28 album NEVEREST - never to rest until the next common goal is reached. The self-confidence is clearly felt in the songs, because NEVEREST rips right away: the choruses are catchy and invite you to sing along, the lead guitars are fat. Fast punk riffs make sure that no circle pit fan is missing out on the live shows. However, it soon becomes clear that nobody here takes themselves too seriously. Cleverly used dissonance and lyrics with wit give the album that certain something and a strong recognition-value. Sure enough, some fans of guitar-heavy genres who like a breakdown, but who also love pop ballads, will discover a new favorite band in Things That Need To Be Fixed.
