Playyard was founded in 2007 by vocalist Erol Yenicakaya and drummer Erik Polet. After being selected by the dutch radio station 3FM as Serious Talent, they saw shows in venues such as The Melkweg (the Max) - Amsterdam, P60 - Amstelveen, Paard van Troje (The Hague) and Baroeg (Rotterdam). Playyard delivers it's debutalbum in 2008 labeled ‘Someday I’ll Show’ and is being follow up by various singles like ‘On That Day’ and ‘It’s All Gone’.
During 2013-2015 the band goes on hiatus when several members leave the band, due to personal reasons. Auditions are being held to reform Playyard. At the end of 2015, with the addition of Bob Korthout as their new drummer, Bob Vegt as their new bassist and Ezra Soerioroseno as their new guitarist, Playyard picks up where it left off back in 2013.
In 2016 a new single is released labelled 'Angels and Assassins'. The band wins several band competitions in 2017 such as The Battle of Hox and Bandk'lash and they play at Babypop and Nog Harder festivals as a reward.
In 2018 the band releases their first single with their new lineup labeled 'The Fallen'. In 2019 the band is planning to release their new EP with 4 brand new songs.
