An enterprising and lyrically gifted MC based out of Brooklyn, New York, Kris Kasanova honed his skills in the projects of Red Hook, gleaning what he could from his rapper stepfather, who would often take Kris with him to the studio while he worked alongside the likes of Mary J.
Blige and Big Pun. Kasanova was laying down his own rhymes by the age of 17, and in 2010 he began working with Lower East Side producer/DJ IBE, who helmed Kris' debut mixtape, The Long Way Home. The tape caught the attention of streetwear clothing shop Flight Club, as well as numerous music blogs, and within a year Kasanova and IBE, partnering under the name HomeSkool, had signed to management company Gild Creative Group and released a second mixtape, War Paint. Kris' next project, 24K, was a largely conceptual one, giving deference to his name and age, as well as the golden era of hip-hop. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
