Geneviève Paré is a singer-songwriter from Québec, Canada. Her passion for music began when she was just a little girl.
Her father introduced her to all the great bands and artists like The Beatles, Elton John and Queen.
As a teenager, she had her first broken heart and was also dealing with severe intimidation at school. Every moment she could, she would lock herself in her room and listen to sad songs. That's when she understood and felt what kind of emotions a song can bring. All these feelings put into words and expressed with melody took her to another world. She didn’t understand all the words at the time, but the melodies, the arrangements, and the feelings they evoked were enough to rock her little world. Her favorite singer was Sarah McLachlan.
At the age of 15, that she broke her piggy bank and started to take singing lessons. During the same year, she learned to play piano and started to write her first songs. Afterwards, wanting to keep learning so she went to music college and university in Québec were she got involved in a vocal group : The Rainbows.
She performed in Canada, Europe, USA, on many TV stations, won best solo in New York’s competition HSAF and became a back up singer for Gregory Charles. (Think of you)
In every song she sings, whether its one of her own or someone else’s, Geneviève creates that same heartfelt link between herself, the song, and the audience. She wants to channel those raw feelings and go straight to your heart.
