I Don't Like People Who Think They're Above Everyone Else
Concrete Armbands are a Sheffield-based alternative rock band known in the Steel City for their unique blend of sounds and tight, energetic live performances.
Driven by their ultimate passion for music, CA are unapologetically individualistic and enjoy pushing stylistic barriers to "The Brink" as much as a tasty post-rehearsal pint.
Inspired by artists such as Biffy Clyro, IDLES, Royal Blood and Frightened Rabbit, CA's music is as engaging as it is unpredictable. The release of their debut EP, Anti-Therapy, demonstrated the band's eagerness to stretch the confines of modern independent rock music, tackling genres from hard rock to country and often fusing various styles in the same song.
CA's drive comes from the heart; their material focusses on topics very close to them such as mental health and break-ups. During the COVID-19 pandemic, CA continued making music in isolation and released Re: Anti-Therapy, an internal remix EP of Anti-Therapy produced by Ghostmod - AKA Ben Austin, the band's drummer. Its lead single, Further Apart, a remix of Bud, received extensive radio play on BBC Sheffield among others and affirmed the band's enthusiasm for tackling any genre just for the sheer fun of it.
Their latest core singles, Sertraline and Baseball Bat, hone in on a harder rock sound with a crisper performance tone and evocative lyrics, indicative of their upcoming EP 'I Don't Like People Who Think They're Above Everyone Else'. This one is loud. Very very loud.
