Through their new single Arbiter’s Call, Arkentype channel their Norwegian traditional folk heritage to give their fans yet another taste of what one of Norway’s most promising progressive metal bands have to offer. The lyrics tells of a struggle with balancing the minds arbiter and one’s own sanity. Arbiter’s Call features the voice of Emilie Bjørnstad, giving the song a new flavor in addition to referencing the female voices of Arkentype’s debut album ‘Disorientated’.
Combining strong melodies with intricate rhythms, and a touch of hard-hitting djent and black metal references, Arkentype entered in the Norwegian progressive metal scene in 2015 alongside bands like Leprous, 22 and Rendezvous Point with their debut album Disorientated . After touring Europe with prog giant Haken, the band reached new heights. In 2020 Arkentype sets it’s course toward releasing their second studio album.
