His 2015 EP ‘Oncoming Clouds’ built slowly following release, with key tracks ‘Easy, Love’ and ‘The Call’ proving popular with music fans, earning Double J rotation, Spotify playlisting, and eventually seeing West nominated for Best Male Artist at 2016’s SAM Awards.
Montreal based Critique De Salon provided “Oncoming Clouds” with an 8 out of 10 review comparing West to the likes of Kim Churchill, Of Monsters And Men and The Lumineers, describing West as a musician in perfect control of his music. Following an appearance at Canadian Music Week 2015, West was named by the AU review as one of the top 7 acts to appear at the festival that year.
