Brain Food are a cosmic psych outfit originally hailing from the suburbs of East Birmingham, UK. The band is comprised of Liam Mckeown (guitar & vocals), William S Carrott (bass) & Connor Doyle (drums & percussion), citing influences that range from Allah-Las to Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall to Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and Connan Mockasin to King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - these guys are creating their own unique brand of sun-warped psychedelic music. Forming in the dying embers of 2017, the band have been making waves with their energetic, spaced-out and shimmering live set. In their brief history they have supported the likes of Insecure Men, Froth, Stonefield, Boy Azooga, Frankie and the Witch Fingers, Dead Coast, Man of Moon and Public Access T.V.
“Echoing riffs gleam over a melodic bass line, vocals resounding through the haze to paint a path ever deeper into the vibrant world they're creating. Boasting guitar hooks that unfurl and entwine with such vivacity you can all but taste the kaleidoscope of colours reflecting off them, this is a dose of psych rock at its most engaging and addictive. Exhilaratingly dream-like and deliciously expansive, it's a first impression destined for great things.” Dork Magazine, June 2018.
