Amanda Bergman grew up in Dalarna, Sweden, in a village full of horses. Amanda says that she never really reflected over the fact that she was always playing, singing and writing songs as a kid – it came very naturally to her and though it quickly became very apparent to the rest of her family, she says barely even noticed it herself.
In her teens, Amanda began performing and recording under the stage name Hajen and in 2010 she released her first EP under the name Idiot Wind, quickly receiving attention from both Swedish and international press who all wondered where this magical voice from middle-of-nowhere-Sweden had been hiding. Shortly after, Amanda joined fellow Swedes First Aid Kit and The Tallest Man On Earth on global tours.
In 2016, Amanda released her first full length solo album Docks.
“For many years I’ve been waiting to find something that would feel like a starting point. Both musically and professionally. I’ve sort of felt as if I’ve been fumbling around quite a bit for a while. This record feels like a breaking point, a point of reference, a benchmark, and a catalyst for continuing and making more music”, says Amanda Bergman. “Lyrically this record is about relationships and all their quirks and twists. It also centers around the fascination I have for the rollercoaster between one’s total shortcomings and those golden moments when you succeed in behaving well.”
Amanda is also a member of critically acclaimed soft-rock band Amason.
