Mike Edge (yes, that’s his real name) is a Los Angeles based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer.
He has worked with notable artists such as Dr. Dre, Roy Davis Jr., Howard Westbrook (Marvin Gaye, Rose Royce), and producer Andy Johns, as well as the legendary label Stones Throw. He made his solo debut last year, releasing his self titled EP on Long Weekend Records, with the well received single Been so Long. Drawing on influences from David Axelrod and Digable Planets to The Pixies and Lou Reed - Edge doesn’t like to stay in one place for long. Growing up, Edge played the guitar and bass, and his eclectic musical environment also led him to DJing - where he was exposed to many different styles of music. As a teen, he was as comfortable behind an MPC sampler as with a guitar or bass. On his new singles, So You're Young and upcoming Me And You, Edge incorporates his distinctive guitars and keys with atmospheric horns and lush female backing vocals. Like his influences, he moves between genres, providing an intimate setting within the past and present.
