Meet The Stewards!
The Stewards believe in rock and roll. From guitar heroes and glam to bluegrass and the British Invasion, the band draws inspiration from the legends who set the foundation for the genre and those who continue to build upon it. The band’s eclectic tastes are reflected in their first single, “Not Too Interesting” (2018), where twin leads evoke Brian May’s ear for melody, a jaunty banjo recalls the roots of American music, and confident drums shuffle forth in time. The diverse arrangement signals the many paths that future releases will find the band pursuing.
While The Stewards are only beginning their journey, the members of the band--Todd Randels (bass, banjo, vocals), Jeff Stephens (guitars, keyboards, vocals), and Alex Looney (drums, percussion, vocals)--are certainly well traveled. The three formed their first band together nearly two decades ago as students at the University of Iowa, sharing stages with national acts and making short stints across the midwest. While geographic space now separates the boys--two members reside in California, one in Iowa--virtual collaboration allows their musical connection to endure.
What lies ahead for The Stewards? Singles, albums, studio footage, streaming concerts, live performances--all are exciting possibilities for a rock and roll band in the digital age. Find the band on all major streaming platforms and social media to see what happens next!
