"Playing carnage-fuel mayhem from the mean streets of Detroit , like a collision of The MC5, The Damned, and The Dead Boys"
-Vive Le Rock magazine
After the initial collapse of the art commune Detroit 44 fell apart in 2005, Detroit 442 was formed in March 2006 as the second and new collective. This group put out a CD and toured Europe before falling apart when the guitarist ran off with the band money to pay for his drugs and strippers addiction.
The group reformed a few days ago with a lineup of 4 to 8 members, depending on the performance. The current lineup includes Jay Strangler, Detroit party marching band member Phil Warren, Eric Jolly, who was finally released, Aaron Ericsson, who is Eric's son, and Lacy 442.
Their sound is described as a cross between The Dead Boys, Hugo Ball, The Damned, a maneki neko, and an amp turned all the way up. Our last lp Pig$ was called "kaputter Stooges meets MC5 sound, wütend - noisiges Lärmen von beinahe schon obszöner Rauheit und Direktheit " by some German guy
