The Baz Trio’s unique sound is founded on bassist Basile Rahola’s compositions, pianist Wajdi Riahi’s supremely personal interpretations, and drummer Oscar Georges subtlety.
The trio play with nuance, subtlety, and spontaneity. They value acoustics and silence; they take their time with their music. The three young musicians draw on a wellspring of interpretations and their unique sense of interaction to produce diverse and melodic music.
They won the “Best Band” award at the 2018 Mechelen International Jazz Contest and recorded a live album at the Jamboree Jazz Club while touring in Spain.
The Baz Trio recently signed with Fresh Sound New Talent. Look for their new album in 2020.
