Hollis Brown is an American Rock n Roll band. Named after a Bob Dylan song "Ballad of Hollis Brown" the band was formed in 2009 by Mike Montali (lead vocals/guitar) and Jonathan Bonilla (lead guitar) later recruiting Andrew Zehnal (drums) and Adam Bock (keyboard/vocals).
Their latest song Run Right to You - Single was released digitally and on 7” vinyl in October 2016 on Velvet Elk/One Little Indian Records. Their vinyl EP Cluster Of Pearls was chosen as one of 300 releases for Record Store Day 2016. It follows up the 2015 release of their album 3 Shots featuring the Bo Diddley collaboration Rain Dance and duet "Highway 1" with Nikki Lane.
Their debut album Ride On the Train was released in 2013 garnering premieres from Rolling Stone and American Songwriter. They've had placements in the Willem Dafoe/Matt Dillon film “Bad Country,” DirecTV's "Kingdom," Showtime’s “Shameless,” the worldwide trailer for the Michael Keaton film “The Founder,” and an online campaign for Abercrombie & Fitch.
Following a Lou Reed tribute concert in NYC Alive Naturalsound asked the band to record a The Velvet UndergroundLoaded (Remastered) tribute for Record Store Day 2014. Gets Loaded had airplay on influential radio stations resulting in a CD/digital release.
Hollis Brown has toured in America and Europe, headlining and supporting acts like JJ Grey & Mofro, Counting Crows, The Zombies, Jackie Greene, Heartless Bastards and Jesse Malin, building an impressive fan base on both continents.
