An avid synth collector inspired by '80s soundtracks such as Blade Runner and Tron, New York's Morgan Z makes retro-flavored electronica under the moniker Chrome Canyon.
In the late 2000s, Morgan Z studied jazz at N.Y.C.'s New School and played in the glam electro group Apes & Androids while working a part-time job at a Sam Ash music store and building up a collection of analog keyboards. Following some work as a remix artist, he got his big break when he signed to the ultra-hip Stones Throw label in 2012. That year, he released his instrumental debut, Elemental Themes. ~ Jason Lymangrover, Rovi
