Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers has combined his twin passions for words and music into a multifaceted career as a musician, author, and teacher.
He is a grand prize winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest (for the song Fly), a contributor to NPR’s All Things Considered, and the founding editor of Acoustic Guitar magazine. Based in upstate New York, he performs solo, with the duo Pepper and Sassafras, and with a full acoustic band, which is featured on the album Almost There and Live and Listening (release date 10/16/19).
Rodgers' album Dead to the Core features solo acoustic arrangements of Grateful Dead songs, and he teaches how to play those songs in a best-selling video series from Homespun Music Instruction. His books include The Complete Singer-Songwriter, recently published in an expanded second edition, and the guitar instructional guide Beyond Strumming.
