Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, 20-year old rising artist Lor Choc is making a name for herself in her city and beyond at a rapid pace.
Choc first started in the music game in 2014 when one of her friends Geter taught her the ins and outs of recording and making music. Choc always had a knack for singing and was quite talented, but it was Geter who showed her the proper way to arrange bars, stay on beat, flow properly, etc. — the nuts and bolts of what it takes to be a successful artist. From there, her and her HD crew started pursuing their dreams and went full throttle with the music. In 2015, Choc released a freestyle video that went viral across the Internet and gave her a solid foundation of fans. Continuing to fine-tune her skills, Choc went on to release her first official full project Worth The Wait in 2016, led by bolstering tracks “Run Up On Me”, “2016” and more. This project officially put Choc on the map and led to some great opportunities including being in featured interviews/stories on major hip-hop sites FADER, Noisey, Pitchfork etc. Towards the end of 2017, Choc released another powerful single titled “Fast Life”. This song and video was a powerful one in the city and truly showed Choc’s talent. Pitchfork referred to it as an, “infectiously simple [song] from the moment the intro bled into her inspirational sh*t talk about chasing a bag of money to give to all her friends.” Choc is now focused on a new project to close out 2018 and keep her momentum building!
