In 2009, Jennica Scott met Jeremy Burchard around the water cooler. Not in an office break room, mind you, but on the football field, where both of them were rehearsing as members of The University of Texas Longhorn Band.
But it just so happened the two had more in common than their love of college football and cool halftime shows. They both loved making other music, too — Scott as a budding country singer and Burchard as a jack-of-all-trades guitarist, singer, and producer. The pair got together and recorded some audio of a makeshift cover of “Hotel California” by the Eagles. More than 175,000 views on YouTube later, they formed Moonlight Social.
In 2012, Moonlight Social released their debut album Heading South to glowing reviews. Lead single “Heading South” appeared on the Texas radio charts, earning praise for its unique country sound.
They toured around the country, playing hundreds of shows throughout 14 states. In 2015, they released a new single called Rub A Little Dirt On It. The music video earned nearly a quarter of a million views on Facebook and the song won the SongDoor International Songwriting Contest’s country category.
Moonlight Social relocated to Nashville in 2016 and got to work on new music. In August, they released single Make You Smile, which The HuffPost called “simply irresistible” and “one of the best country pop songs of the year.” In January 2018, they released follow-up single Bad Side. They released new EP 'Make You Smile' on April 13, 2018.
