Moving to Nashville from just outside Baltimore in 2012, Liz Cooper gave up her golf scholarship to pursue music full time.
Upon moving, she got a job as quickly as she could at a place she was familiar with—a country club. She quickly met and befriended a group of guys who were deeply embedded in the Nashville music scene with their band Future Thieves. They helped Liz record her first batch of songs in their home studio, and she released her Monsters EP in the summer of 2014. As Future Thieves got busier with their own music, Liz needed to find a live band.
Her friend Ky Baker’s band broke up, and she quickly enlisted him as her drummer. When they were looking for a bass player, Baker thought of his friend Grant Prettyman, and The Stampede became a trio.
They quickly went into the studio and recorded and filmed four tracks live, and released the Live at the Silent Planet EP in the spring of 2016.
They began touring as much as they could without losing their day jobs at home. But in October of 2016, the band recorded an Audiotree session, and the YouTube video quickly gained traction. Showcasing their live performance, the Audiotree session put them on the map, and the band has been touring relentlessly since.
They’re currently working on their debut full-length album.
