This year, Stello is releasing at least four new triplets. They drop every sometimes. Triplet No. 2: Desire
went live on March 2nd.
The series began with an immersive, experiential set called Triplet No. 1: Apollo
, which dropped on December 1st, 2017 and was met with glowing reviews. EARMILK called Apollo "masterfully crafted," swooning "Stello shows us that great musicianship is far from dead." Kings of AR advised industry leaders take note, saying 'Stello should be on your radar.' And Indie Shuffle said the opening track is 'sultry, smooth and some other word that begins with an s.'
Triplet No. 2: Desire
marked a major shift in Stello's sonic palette. Desire leans into psychedelic funk, weaving dance grooves and synthesizers through a dreamy soundscape. Lyrically, the songs focus on the many shapes of internal desire: the quiet agony of boredom; the urgency of infatuation.
On April 23, 2018, Stello released Versions
, a meandering, psychedelic jam featuring Scott James
. The single earned immediate international acclaim, and was recently featured in Spotify's Fresh Finds
