1929 the world is different place. Music is being played live, in dance palaces, cafés and corner pubs. Not yet a soundfile coming through loudspeakers, it has to be performed live by musicians. Weidemann&Kamien, two men rooted for decades in international musical subculture take on the task not only to produce the music but to cast real musicians for the film shootings. Teaming up with saxophonist/arranger Sebastian Borkowski they put together the Moka Efti Orchestra. A 14 piece ensemble of international virtuosos, all rooted in Berlin´s buzzing Jazz scene, the Orchestra takes its name after one of the great 1920´s Berlin entertainment palaces.
