Bandits on the Run is the 21st century Brooklyn answer to the golden Laurel Canyon days of yore. With 3 distinct performers trading songwriting/frontman duties, the group's signature 3-part harmonic voice and inventive instrumental arrangements make their sound at once classic & unique.
They are known for their high energy and rousing theatricality in their live shows, & have gained notoriety for bringing various non-music shenanigans to their performances, including but not limited to shadow puppet shows, costumed characters, & party favors.
Since their inception, they've played everywhere from subway stops to the streets of Europe to legendary NYC venues and beyond. 2017 saw the release of the Bandits' debut album The Criminal Record, crafted under the guidance of producer William Garrett, to much indie-NYC critical acclaim. 2018 saw them touring Europe after winning the NYC Coffee Music Project with their song Love in the Underground. Their 2019 Tiny Desk Contest entry of the song gained the attention of NPR music, earning a “Top Shelf of the Tiny Desk” feature. Their most recent EP, Bandits (Live at the Power Station) was released in August 2019. In 2020 the bandits have already played at the Sundance Film Festival's ASCAP Music Cafe & dropped an ambitious A-Side / B-Side release of contrasting versions of their signature tune Love in the Underground, accompanied by a self-produced companion short film. More releases are in the pipeline— so keep your eyes and ears peeled
