Tom Casey crafted his own world of sultry pop songs tinged with painful self-awareness in his latest singles "Beautiful Woman" and "One More Time." A native to the storied Asbury Park music scene, Casey's evolution into an ambitious and independent pop songwriter could be seen as anything but predictable.
Born as Thomas Ciccone to a pair of hardworking parents, he was raised in a small, suburban town not more than a hundred yards from the shore. He took to music at an early age, playing bass guitar in his first band at the age of 10 and soon becoming known as a gifted songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He would go on to study upright jazz bass at The College of New Jersey, become a resident guitarist for the alma mater's prized jazz ensemble, and study classical music composition and piano privately.
While in school, Casey collaborated with singer Lindsey Meldrum to form a folk-jazz duo called Wayfare. The duo quickly recorded a self-titled EP and immediately began touring internationally, before settling into Melbourne, Australia and becoming a featured act in the Australian folk festival circuit. Wayfare eventually disbanded, and Casey returned to the United States in late 2015.
Since then, Casey has been busy with his musical projects, producing 3 EPs and a litany of soundtracks for indie films, web shows, and video games. He plans to release a full-length LP later this year.
