I started writing my own songs when I was 15. I get lost....in notes and in the harmony of how they fit together. This is how I write music. I snoop around in unfamiliar territory until something shows up and grips hold of me...completely. Pretty much everything after that is a blur. Time stops. When I find my way back, there is a new piece of music, smiling up at me and wanting more of my attention. It usually gets it's way.
In life, I'm interested in what brings us together...what connects us. I'm always trying to get closer to that. My songs tend to be about human dynamics, relationships, love, old memories of good things and experiences in my own life which may be universal to all of us.
That's the bullseye for me.
I present my songs for the enjoyment of people everywhere with the hope that they might find their way to you and give you something...a feeling, a laugh, a tear. Something that has meaning for you.
When this happens and people tell me so, I'm a pretty happy guy.
